Advancements in dental technology have allowed patients to receive modern solutions for common dental problems. Our driving force behind our technology to provide you with the leading-edge dental treatment out there, and perform them in a more efficient, comfortable manner. Dental technologies constantly evolve and transform the field of dentistry, and our technologies have allowed us to focus on preventing, diagnosing, and treating dental diseases and conditions as early as possible.

Some of the most popular technologies we offer at Dr. Thomas Piazza include:

Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays, also called digital radio-graphs, can capture dental images through a sensor. That sensor processes the image onto a computer screen and allows us to reduce the exposure to radiation and bring better quality images.

Intraoral Cameras

The intraoral camera will produce images of your teeth and supporting structure and allows us to see tooth defects and other close-up issues with your teeth and roots. These cameras help us to teach our patients about dental hygiene practices, such as where to focus on brushing teeth.

The periometer, a percussion diagnosis system, allows our dentists to monitor implant integration and locate the formation of cracks in natural teeth. The periometer gives our dentists the ability to prevent dental implant failure, and determine optimal dental therapies for patient’s teeth.

Optical Scanners

Optical scanners give our dentists a digital map of the tooth and create a 3-D replica of the model of the dental structure. The 3-D structure helps give an accurate color analysis for cosmetic restorations, such as porcelain veneers, crowns, and bridges.

Laser Dentistry

Lasers reduce discomfort for treating benign tumors, cold sores, gum changes, decay removal, and crown lengthenings. Laser dentistry can also treat damaged nerves, blood vessels, and scars found in the teeth and gums. Lasers use light energy as a method of operation and shorten the healing process.

Air Abrasion Systems

Air abrasions work to treat small cavities, and we use these systems to replace the traditional dental drill system that many patients find terrifying. Air-abrasions help to preserve the healthy tooth without the use of local anesthetics and provide a more precise removal of decay and repair old tooth restorations.

CAT Scans

CAT scans have become a reliable source for our dental implant process, as CAT scans allow our dentists to see and work on the jawbone and surrounding bone structure to produce more accurate results.

While normally seen in science labs, microscopes provide us with the ability to see micro-cracks, weakening tooth structures, and where dental nerves are with precision and accuracy. Microscopes also allow us to remove any affected tooth structures while preserving healthy teeth in the process.
